*Early Life and Struggle*

Qazi Touqeer was born and brought up in Srinagar, Kashmir. He comes from a middle-class family. Before Fame Gurukul, he was running a small boutique and had no formal training in music. His raw voice and charming personality impressed both judges and audience.


*Fame Gurukul Journey*

In 2005, Sony TV launched Fame Gurukul. Qazi was an underdog. With the guidance of mentors like Javed Akhtar and KK, his performance improved week by week. His duet chemistry with Bengali singer *Ruprekha Banerjee* became very popular. In a historic finale, both Qazi and Ruprekha were declared joint winners. They won a contract with Sony Music and Rs. 50 Lakh.


*Career After Fame Gurukul*

After winning, Qazi and Ruprekha released the album *"Yeh Pal"* which was a superhit. Songs like "Meri Chunar Udd Udd Jaye" were chartbusters.


Later, Qazi decided to stay away from the mainstream Bollywood glamour. He moved back to Kashmir and focused on his family business and Kashmiri music. He also did some modeling and live shows across India and Dubai.
